Our friends at Chemung County Cornell Cooperative Extension have a new “Natural Resources Linktree” page to make it easy to find environmentally friendly information quickly. “Where will it take me and what will I see”, you ask? Well here’s a sneak peek!
This is what you’ll see when you use the link provided at the end of this article.
The “About Us” tab will take you to the Chemung County Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) main home page where you can navigate to anything on their website. And of course, the Facebook tab takes you their FB page.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Composting will bring you to a main page for those topics, with links to get to information on each individual topic. There are great ideas for reducing and reusing, like avoid buying products that have non-recyclable packaging, and donating items that you don’t use any longer, but still have some good life left in them. There are some useful directions on recycling in Chemung County, like you don’t have to sort your recyclables! Makes this environmentally wise activity pretty easy! Another form of recycling compliments of Mother Nature- Composting information is also featured in this section.
You’ll find a wealth of other information, like garbage and recycling drop off stations; a great list of where to take those items you can’t put out with your usual trash like large appliances and FREON containing items; information on the Household Hazardous Waste Collection events held twice a year.
The final tab is one of the most important on this page, it’s a link to a recycling survey. This survey will take you less than 2 minutes to complete, but will give CCE and Chemung County some very valuable insight into your recycling habits and what we can do to make recycling easier and more convenient for you! You can even request more information by leaving a number or email!
